Keep Claude Code, Codex or Copilot. Add one line to their config and the heavy, repetitive work — search, ranking, extraction — runs on your machine instead of being billed to a cloud. Your documents are never sent to the client; it asks a question and gets an answer back.
armore mcp-serve is still in progress (#6459), so
nothing here claims a measured result. Commands and client names are quoted from
armore --help on build 319a8dc57.
The command-line tool ships inside the installer, so if you installed the app you have
it. Install and first run covers where it lives
and how to put it on your PATH.
armore mcp-serve --help
The binary describes it in one line: “Bridge an external MCP client (Claude, Codex, Copilot, Cursor) to this device.”
| Client | How you add it |
|---|---|
| Claude Code | its own CLI command |
| Codex | its own CLI command |
| GitHub Copilot CLI | its own CLI command |
| Antigravity | config file — it has no MCP CLI |
| Cursor | config file — its binary is an editor launcher |
antigravity mcp add, it is wrong.
In the app this is Settings → Privacy & data → MCP connectors. The card there grants a named set of read verbs to one peer and shows you the exact command to paste, with the path already quoted for you. There is also a scriptable form for the owner:
armore serve --serve-mcp-grant=<peerId>:<capability>
Ask about something that is not in your documents and you get “Not found.” rather than a confident answer assembled from nothing. The model itself will happily guess — that is what models do, and we do not control it. The product detects the no-document case and refuses on its behalf.
This is the inbound direction: an outside tool asks Armore. The outbound direction — Armore reaching out to other services as a client — is not in this release.
Because the client asks a question instead of being handed your files, you are not paying to send those files anywhere. At least 88% less context sent, and at least 55% lower cost. The answer the model writes is the same size either way — it is the sending that shrinks.
